Oh, that's a bit shit then. For completely understandable reasons, Aronofsky has stepped down as director of The Wolverine. A film that, with him at the helm, promised to eradicate the bad memories of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In a statement he said:
"As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of The Wolverine would keep me out of the country for almost a year,” Aronofsky said in a joint statement with Fox. I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won't be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again,”Among Aronofsky's filmography are The Wrestler and Black Swan. His involvement was the only thing keeping me positive about this film and Fox will have to do some serious work to pull in another director able to take Wolverine where fans want to see him.
