Is This Really Wonder Woman's Costume?

I've just posted the first image of Adrianne Palicki in a Wonder Woman costume. Palicki plays Wonder Woman in the pilot for a new TV series scripted by David E Kelley for NBC. The costume has so far received an overwhelmingly negative response, from myself included (so much so that I had to quickly computer edit the costume to make myself feel better). Even Palicki herself looks kind of miserable in this shot, for which no effort was made to disguise the dull photo studio background. Then I had an idea.

What if this isn't her actual costume? OK, we know it's genuine in terms of the actor really wearing it but, in the show, Wonder Woman herself is marketed with toys and merchandising and there's a reference to her "original costume" in the video audition Tanit Phoenix did with a copy of the script (see below). Perhaps this costume is one Wonder Woman's marketing team want her to wear (hence the setting and unimpressed face).

My guess right now is that the release of this photo is a very clever ploy to get fanboys worked up and provide a load publicity, ready for the reveal of the real costume. Maybe it's less of a guess and more of a naive hope! What do you think?

Wouldn't you be pissed off if this is what you felt you should be wearing given your ancient and noble heritage?

  1. Psss this character it's already done, was many characters in comics and super heroes, people should start to make something new, because recycle characters it's not good for business.
